Women have always been a key part of the Willshee’s business – which started back in 1984 when Maria Willshee and her husband Keith founded the company.
Today, Maria is still a director and there are 14 female employees who hold a wide variety of roles – all of which are key to Willshee’s day-to-day operation, including managing our vehicle planning and weighbridge facility.
The transport team of Oliwia Stankiewicz, Chloe Vardy and Sharon Walker provides a primary function, the responsibility for overseeing in the region of 200 vehicle movements every day and typically dealing with over 2000 tonnes of waste through the depots, on a daily basis.
Every truck is weighed on its arrival to every depot which enables us to gather all the information for the waste collected from our clients. Our income is based on tonnes of waste – so this process is vital to us and vital to our clients!
