Women in Waste – Meet Sue our hazardous waste expert

If you need any advice about hazardous waste legislation, the facts about WEEE or how to deal with difficult wastes, Susan Purnell is your woman! Willshee’s has always taken great pride in providing the highest standards of expertise and Sue’s arrival last year was further evidence of this principle.

Sue is Willshee’s Technical Compliance Manager. She has a degree in Chemistry with a string of professional qualifications too. She holds the WAMITAB Continuing Competence Certificate in Transfer & Treatment of Hazardous Waste and is also a Chartered Waste Manager.

Having worked in our industry for 17 years, she has a background in hazardous waste, compliance and auditing.

Here at Willshee’s we give professional guidance and solutions on how to deal safely and compliantly with all types of waste streams, including oils, solvents, asbestos, paints, processing wastes, aerosols and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Part of this service includes being fully briefed on the latest legislation and its implications and ensuring that all the appropriate quality standards, auditing and reporting processes are market leading in terms of rigour.

What is WEEE?

WEEE is waste electrical and electronic equipment. It is end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment and covers virtually everything with a plug or battery. It is classed as either household or non-household WEEE
