Burton based engineering firm Ischebeck Titan is embarking on an ambitious growth programme across both its established core sectors and in terms of new markets.
The company, which specialises in the construction industry, is launching additional product lines, increasing stock levels of existing categories and has introduced a number of innovations and improvements – this includes a review of waste management.
Zero waste to landfill
Operations manager John Pollock felt that waste disposal was an area that needed an overhaul. “We were previously using four different suppliers and were still sending waste to landfill.
“This whole area has been completely reviewed and we now have chosen one supplier with a range of separate bins and skips for paper and card (with a separate collection point for confidential documents), mixed scrap metal, aluminium, food and general waste,” he explains.
“We are really impressed with Craig and rest of the Willshee’s team in terms of how responsive they are and providing best advice, while at the same time holding all the key health and safety and environmental accreditations. They are also competitive price wise too!
“We have been investing heavily in the business this year and so it has been key that we future-proof the company. This includes taking a responsible approach to all environmental matters so we are delighted to now be achieving zero waste to landfill.”
Craig Willshee SHEQ manager at Willshee’s added: “It is great to be working with another ambitious, successful Burton business which is committed to investing in best practice. We are really proud to have won this contract and are enjoying working with John and his team.”
Specialist engineering group Ischebeck Titan has been in Burton since 1990 and now employs over 100 people across all its UK operations.
