Two Willshee’s team members, Ben Kelly-Walley and Jon Cox, recently took part in the Burton upon Trent and District YMCA Sleepout Challenge – an inspiring annual event raising awareness and funds to help tackle homelessness in our community.

Held on Friday, 7th November at Burton Albion Football Club’s Pirelli Stadium, the event saw over 200 people swap their beds for cardboard boxes, with a few even sleeping in a local church graveyard. Together, participants aimed to raise thousands of pounds to support the YMCA’s vital work, which raised over £22,000 last year.

Willshee’s was proud to sponsor Sleepout Boxes and support the YMCA’s ongoing efforts to provide accommodation and support for those in need.

Ben Kelly-Walley said:

It was really well organised and such a worthwhile, humbling experience. I’d definitely do it again- it’s a brilliant local charity to support.

Jon Cox added:

The event was brilliant and very well organised. It was humbling to experience what a homeless person goes through, and it made me appreciate my home comforts. A great experience and real sense of achievement – I’ll definitely do it again next year!
