Shredding documents securely

Confidential Waste Disposal

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was implemented in 2018 to ensure the careful handling of personal data. To comply with GDPR, businesses must properly control their data processes by securely storing, managing and destroying any sensitive information they collect.

The consequences for not meeting these requirements could be severe. Businesses that are negligent with their data handling could face a fine of up to €20 million or up to 4% of their annual turnover, so it’s really not worth the risk.

Under these regulations, customers retain the right to be forgotten, meaning that their data must be destroyed or deleted from a business’s records within 30 days of their request. Document destruction must be completed securely in order to avoid any potential for information leaks, data breaches, or identity fraud.

Confidential documents include:

  • PAYE records
  • Personnel and HR files
  • Customer information, such as addresses or account details
  • Enquiry forms
  • Credit card details
  • Bank account information
  • Anything with an individual’s name on it than can give further information about them
  • Any company information not for public or competitor consumption

Willshee’s for secure data destruction

Willshee’s document destruction services are GDPR-compliant and are carried out by a team of fully trained and trusted staff committed to confidentiality. Materials for destruction can be collected at your convenience and disposed of in a method of your choosing, making the entire process efficient and as easy for you as possible.

Willshee’s provide a comprehensive and confidential waste disposal service, including:

  • Industrial paper shredding
  • Recycling – reduce your environmental impact whilst complying with GDPR
  • Branded goods destruction
  • Deep burial at landfill or incineration – choose the best method for disposing of your waste
  • Redundant stock disposal
  • General and special waste disposal

After the disposal of your documents, a certificate of destruction is issued for your records to verify that the process was undertaken securely. This can be shown as proof to those individuals requesting to be forgotten and can remain in your document archives in case you need it in future instances.

Choosing Willshee’s for your confidential document disposal ensures a secure and cost-effective service that you can rely on. We specialise in helping our clients to be compliant with the relevant legislation through our sustainable and environmentally beneficial service. Our document disposal methods minimise the risk of breaking the law and losing customers over security failures, helping to take a weight off your mind so that you can get on with everything else.
