Food & Glass Waste Collection and Recycling
Why Choose Willshee’s
Willshee’s is a Zero waste to Landfill waste management company, which means we are constantly looking for the most costs effective and environmentally friendly solutions to manage our customers waste, we avoid sending waste to landfill at every turn, food waste creates a dis-proportionate amount of Green House Gases that are released into the atmosphere as it degrades. Our new dedicated collection service allows us to collect our customers’ food waste and take it directly to an Anaerobic Digestion Plant in our local region.
Once the collected food waste is delivered to a local A.D plant, the food waste will go through the full Anaerobic Digestion process, this process turns the food waste into compost, whilst the gases of the waste driver a generator which in-turn produces electricity, all the electricity produced will be provided (as green energy) to the national grid, further reducing our customers environmental impact.
A large number of our existing customers who produce food waste also produce a high volume of glass, so the new collection vehicle has been designed with two separate compartments this allows us to collect food and glass waste at the same time, which further reduces the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere.
The mixed glass we collect will be stored at our Burton-on-Trent depot until we reach 26tonne, the glass will then be delivered to a glass recycling facility in our region. After the glass is cleaned and sorted by colour, it is melted and moulded into new products. The glass is then recycled as new products which will be reused again and again.
Glass doesn’t degrade through the recycling process, so it can be recycled an infinite number of times without any loss of purity. Recycled glass can be made into usable products in as little as 30 days. glass waste vehicles.
