There have been lots of exciting developments over the last six months here at Willshee’s, from the opening of our new head office to receiving new certifications. Read on to hear about the new facilities, equipment and other updates from Willshee’s.

New head office

Back in October 2014, Willshee’s were pleased to open its brand new offices. The new building is adjacent to our recycling depot and allows all parts of the business administration to together work from the one office building.

Day to day business and accounts functions operate on the 1st floor, whilst the ground floor meeting room facilitates management meetings room and customer presentations.

Wood re-processing facility

Just a month later, in November, Willshee’s also completed construction of the new wood processing facility based with-in our recycling centre complex in Burton-on-Trent. The newly built re-processing facility will gives the capacity to re-process up to 25,000te of graded wood per annum.

Waste wood is graded on site – A grade wood is recycled and B grade wood is shredded and sent for biomass waste to energy. We operate zero wood to landfill.

Additional Equipment for Willshee’s

Willshee’s continue to investment in state of the art equipment. Recently, we have added another new LIEBHERR grab to our fleet. The grab was ordered late last year and brought to help deal the increased tonnage of household waste going through the depot in Burton-on-Trent.

This additional tonnage has come via a new contract won by Willshee’s late last year for the local authority.

Willshee’s has also recently purchased a Titan Walking Trailer. The new trailer is a full 5 tonnes lighter than the existing ejector trailers with donkey engine. The new lightweight walking floor trailer was purchased to manage our new increased tonnage that comes via our new contract with South Derbyshire Council and allows Willshee’s to cost effectively deliver to house-hold waste to incinerator plants around the country.

Willshee’s Supplies New Waste to Energy plants in Scandinavia

Willshee’s have for many years supplied AEB in Amsterdam with baled RDF for waste to energy, therefore providing our customers with Zero Waste to landfill. Due to a recent fire at the AEB waste to energy plant we have started to successfully supply a number of facilities in Scandinavia, for District Heating for the local community.

Willshee’s is awarded ISO 14001 & 18001

At the start of this year, Willshee’s was awarded both 14001 & 18001 by CQS. We have invested in ISO systems as we believe that having Health / Safety and Environmental accreditation allows us to give the best possible service to our customers and indicates our commitment and responsibility. Willshee’s was awarded ISO 9001 quality system in 2014.
